·   ON “WACT”…

For the original recording of 1991's "Wact" we went to Mix-O-Lydian Studios, in Booten, NJ because that's where the Misfits did the "Walk Among Us" album.  We were touring so much at that time that we didn’t really care about working hard in the studio. The original label that released "Wact" had folded, so eventually we decided to re-record it and it was re-released in 1996.

The Fiendz - “Wact” LP/CD includes:

Fax

Scumbum

R.I.P.

Wact

Mistake

Beat-less

We're the Fiendz (Reprise)

Fast and Slow

The Deals

Rehab

Spanish Armada

See Ya Next Tour

Totowazone

The End

Liquor Store (bonus track)

STOLEN!?*.....(a confession by Jerry Jones)

* The riff and verses of "Fax" were inspired by the song "The Weight" by "The Band".

* For "Beat-less" I was trying to rob the Beatles version of the Buddy Holly song “Words of Love".

* The intro for "The End" sounds a lot like the Beatles "Do You Want to Know a Secret?"

* The verses for "See Ya Next Tour" sound a lot like Elvis Costello's "The Ugly Things" written by Nick Lowe.

 * On the original version of the song "Rehab" we used a sample of Elvis Costello screaming "Wake up Zombie get yourself off the hook!" because I wrote this song for an old friend of mine who was nicknamed "Zombie".  The sample is from the song "The Bugs are Taking Over" from Costello's album "Mighty Like a Rose".

Alright, you can see I love Elvis Costello.  He is one of my favorite artists.  If you think I'm crazy for using so much of him on this record, then get this…I actually gave him a copy of this album the first time I met him...I wonder if he ever listened to it?

Too Cool: (Todd Rundgren, Robert Fripp, The Misfits & Mike Patton all own Fiendz CDs as well!)

A Wact Review

“I've been waiting a long time to come across a band like this.   Minor chord progressions and three-part vocal harmonies display a mature songwriting talent which is a rare find in the indie world." ---SKRATCH MAGAZINE

WACT FACT:  The song "The End" was used in the MSNBC "Time & Again" special featuring Paul McCartney.
